Summer PD Calendar
Presenting: “Tuesdays with Toni” – a Series of Virtual Live Events For Teachers, Coaches & Leaders who have access to the NEW Virtual Bead String APP
Virtual Live PD
Why are we offering this series?
To support teachers who are eager to use this model with their students, we have created a series of Bead String Lesson Sketches, which we will be rolling out this summer in virtual PD sessions called “Tuesdays with Toni” Antonia (Toni) Cameron.
Toni, the creator of the NEW Virtual Bead String model, will be facilitating each virtual session LIVE and offer coaching support for participants using this tool.https://youtu.be/OFGGMnz7yAs
What’s the Structure of each Virtual PD Session?
Each session is designed as a practicum, educators
will have the time they need to play, collaborate, and
receive feedback on how they are modeling students’
mathematical thinking.
Video examples will be used to highlight specific teaching
tools (essential talk moves and use of board space);
analysis will also focus on how to deconstruct students’
mathematical thinking and how to represent their ideas to
highlight important mathematical structures.
Who Should Attend?
These sessions will be tailored to meet the needs of ALL
participants. Whether you’re just starting to play with the
Virtual Bead String or if you’re ready for more advanced
explorations, please join us.
2 CTLE hours per session.

Teacher In-Person PD
“It was amazing to see the variety of models used to think about (and explain) multiplication and division. This series has made me more thoughtful about how I plan my lessons, and which models I will use.”

Michael Parrish 3rd Grade Teacher

The emphasis on teaching students to reason mathematically rather than perform rote algorithms was amazing to witness and learn.”

Admin Testimonials
“You all are the best! I am so glad to be part of this CLC because it is a moment I have to grow my skills as a school leader and educator.”

Teacher In-Person PD
“It’s important to give students ownership by providing them with opportunities to talk about their strategies, to experiment and to grapple with what works for them.”

Beth Jurewicz 1st Grade Teacher
Admin Testimonials
“I really appreciated hearing from the school leaders about their multi-year journey, including the importance of setting a goal, devoting resources to it, reflecting honestly that the starting place was not the right one, and course correcting from there. There’s no “aha!” key move to make that will instantly flip things. It’s an ongoing process that will likely need ongoing revision.”

“I really enjoyed this series and grew a lot as a mathematician by taking risks alongside colleagues and learning from our discussions.”
